The Monkeyface Chronicles
By: Richard Scarsbrook

The hero in the book "The Monkeyface Chronicles" is a boy named Phillip Skyler. He shows a number of characteristics of a hero throughout the book, such as sacrifice, when he takes on the challenge with Grant and Grum Brush, and he doesn't let his brother Michael help him in the situation. He also shows courage, throughout the book, first to take on the fight with the two brothers, and also stand up for his girlfriend Adeline. He shows dedication and perserverance, because at the end, after the big accident, he suffers for a long period of time, but doesn't give up, and keeps going. He's willing and adventerous based on the journey he goes through in the book. So as you can see he possesses a variety of different characteristics.

I chose this picture, because I believe that a hero isn't who has super strength, and can save the world, but it is someone who does all they can to help one another.

The archetypal characteristic that describes Alexander Jessup Kaufman best would be a mentor. He would be a mentor because he aids the hero, which is Samantha. He is older, and wiser, and helps Samantha through all the rough patches, and all the negative impacts in her life. He gives her advice, and shows her there is always a bright side to things. He shows the inner godlike things within us. He provides the heros needs for her challenge, and can occasionally be the hero's conscience.
