blog post # 1

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it.  ~James Bryce

This quote spoke to me personally because I can relate to it best, I believe when you read a book, that you should be able to take something away from it. Such as learning a new piece of information , or a lesson, you should be able to identify the authors message in the particular book. Even in the most simplest books, you can find knowledge that could last you a lifetime. Such as the children's book "The Tortoise and the Hare", the moral was basically "slow and steady wins the race" which i think is a good thing to keep in mind. Thoroughly thinking through what your doing is always a good thing to do through life because by reflecting upon our actions, we can be sure that we are making the decision that we think is right.

  1. This is so true Alisha. There is much that can be learned from the fictional accounts of well developed characters.
